Chitkara University has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Defence Academy (NDA), Khadakwasla, Pune, to support cadets who are unable to complete their training and are boarded out of the academy. The agreement is aimed at helping them continue their education through structured academic pathways.

The MoU was signed between Dr. Madhu Chitkara, Pro-Chancellor, Chitkara University, and Dr. Vinay Deep, Principal, National Defence Academy. The signing took place in the presence of Air Vice Marshal Rajesh Verma, VM, Deputy Commandant and Chief Instructor, NDA, and Lt. Col. (Dr.) Rakesh Sharma, Registrar, Chitkara University.

Under this arrangement, boarded-out cadets will be eligible for migration-based admissions at Chitkara University. This will allow them to continue their studies without interruption. The initiative provides an alternative option for cadets who have spent significant time in defence training but are unable to continue due to medical or other reasons.

Dr. Madhu Chitkara said, “This collaboration is a step towards ensuring that cadets who are unable to continue at the academy still have access to structured academic opportunities. It is important that their transition into civilian education is supported in a manner that recognises their commitment and enables them to build meaningful careers.”

The collaboration aims to address the academic needs of members of the Armed Forces community by ensuring continuity in education. It is also part of the university’s efforts to support individuals who need to change their career path due to unforeseen circumstances.
