Chitkara University Nursing Students Engage Community on Maternal Health

The Department of Nursing, Chitkara School of Health Sciences, in collaboration with the National Service Scheme, Chitkara University, organised an event marking Maternal Health Awareness Day. The initiative focused on raising awareness about maternal well-being and highlighting the growing significance of maternal health concerns in everyday life.

During the programme, NSS volunteers engaged women and community members in interactive discussions. They shared information on antenatal and postnatal care, proper nutrition, and safe pregnancy practices. The volunteers also spoke about common danger signs during pregnancy and emphasised the importance of timely use of healthcare services. The interactions aimed to address misconceptions related to maternal health and encourage positive health-seeking behaviour.

Through the observance, the Department of Nursing continued its work on community health concerns, aligning academic learning with service initiatives that address public health priorities.
