Chitkara University Engages in Global Dialogue at QS India Summit 2026

Dr. Madhu Chitkara, Pro Chancellor, Chitkara University, represented the institution at the QS India Summit 2026 titled India @ 2047: Building Skills, Achieving Scale, Driving Innovation, where she presented the University’s institutional journey, strategic direction and expanding global engagement initiatives. The summit brought together leaders from academia, policy and industry to examine the evolving role of higher education within an increasingly interconnected global knowledge ecosystem.
At the forum, Dr. Chitkara outlined the University’s approach to international collaboration and transnational education, placing particular emphasis on building structured global partnerships and strengthening academic linkages across borders. The discussions centred on how institutions can align skill development, scale and innovation with national and international priorities.
“Engagement at global platforms such as the QS India Summit provides an important opportunity for universities to exchange ideas, reflect on shared challenges and build purposeful collaborations,” said Dr. Madhu Chitkara. “Higher education institutions must remain responsive to the changing demands of learners and society, while sustaining academic depth and institutional integrity.”
On the sidelines of the summit, Dr. Chitkara met with several senior leaders and dignitaries, including Jessica Turner, Chief Executive Officer, QS Quacquarelli Symonds; Ben Sowter, Senior Vice President, QS Quacquarelli Symonds; Dr. Ashwin Fernandes, Executive Director, QS Middle East, Africa and South Asia; Dr. Karim Seghir, Chancellor, Ajman University; Prof. Ghassan Aouad, Chancellor, Abu Dhabi University; Dr. Philip Steenkamp, President and Vice-Chancellor, Royal Roads University and Chair, Universities Canada International Committee; Armstrong Pame, IAS, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Education, Government of India; and George Thiveos, Minister Counsellor, Department of Education, Australian High Commission.
The summit provided a platform to exchange perspectives on international partnerships and the broader responsibilities of universities in shaping future-ready systems of learning. Participation in such dialogues forms part of Chitkara University’s continuing efforts to engage constructively with global academic networks and policy discussions in higher education.
