NSS Nursing Students Lead HIV Awareness Rally in Kalomajra

National Service Scheme (NSS) volunteers from the B.Sc. Nursing fifth semester at the Department of Nursing, Chitkara School of Health Sciences, Chitkara University, organised a community rally ahead of World AIDS Day to raise awareness about HIV/AIDS.

The initiative focused on prevention, early diagnosis, and the availability of treatment. Volunteers highlighted safe practices such as consistent condom use, avoiding unsafe injections, and regular HIV testing, while addressing myths and stigma associated with the condition. Banners, placards, and pamphlets were used to communicate clear messages and encourage community participation.

The activity forms part of the university’s ongoing efforts to link academic learning with community engagement in public health.
