First Chitkara Badminton Tournament Concludes with Enthusiastic Student and Staff Participation

Chitkara University Sports Board successfully organised the first edition of the Chitkara Badminton Tournament, bringing together an enthusiastic mix of students and staff in a vibrant display of skill, teamwork, and healthy competition. The tournament was held with the objective of promoting fitness, unity, and sportsmanship across the campus community while offering a platform for budding players to showcase their talent.
The event saw spirited participation across multiple categories, with matches that kept spectators engaged throughout. Players demonstrated not only technical precision but also discipline, focus, and resilience—qualities that define Chitkara’s sporting spirit. The badminton courts came alive with energy as rallies grew longer and applause became louder, reflecting the passion and commitment of both participants and organisers.
In the women’s singles category, Naina Trihan emerged as the champion, followed by Jasmeet Kaur as the runner-up and Harshita Garg as the second runner-up. The men’s singles event witnessed intense competition, with Ansh Arora securing the champion’s title, while Harkirat Singh and Aryan Chopra finished as runner-up and second runner-up, respectively. Among the staff, the men’s doubles category saw Harinder Pal Singh and Manav Bansal claim the championship, with Bahadur Singh and Gaurav finishing as runners-up and Nitesh and Mohit taking the third position.
To acknowledge the outstanding performances and efforts of the players, cash prizes and special recognitions were presented to all winners. Their achievements stand as a testament to the university’s commitment to fostering a culture that values physical well-being alongside academic excellence.
