Students Explore Science of Happiness at Design Your Happiness Session

The Chitkara Happiness Centre in collaboration with the Department of Design organised an interactive session titled “Design Your Happiness” for design students, focusing on the science of happiness and practical ways to integrate it into daily life.
The session was conducted by Shivam K. Mishra, Executive and Vrinda, Management Trainee, who guided students through an engaging mix of discussions and activities. The program explored the role of the four key happiness hormones—dopamine, oxytocin, serotonin and endorphins—and how they influence emotions, motivation and well-being. Students actively participated in conversations that highlighted the connection between these chemicals and everyday experiences, gaining insights into how happiness can be consciously nurtured.
The event also included a group gratitude exercise, which encouraged students to reflect on thankfulness as a practice that strengthens personal and social bonds. This activity created a sense of community among participants and reinforced the value of appreciation in building meaningful relationships.
Throughout the session, students embraced the opportunity to share their perspectives and engage in exercises that promoted self-expression and mindfulness. The atmosphere was filled with laughter, energy and enthusiasm as students explored new ways to apply positivity in their academic journey.
By the end of the program, many participants expressed feeling more motivated and cheerful, with a renewed sense of purpose for their college life. The Design Your Happiness initiative reflected the mission of Chitkara Happiness Centre to foster well-being and holistic growth, equipping students with tools that not only enhance academic success but also enrich personal development and social connections.
