RECOGNITION AND APPROVALS

Chitkara University and its constituent institutions are duly recognized by University Grants Commission (UGC) and other apex bodies, and have memberships and accreditations of various national and international bodies and associations.

UNIVERSITY GRANTS COMMISSION (UGC)

Chitkara University is recognized by University Grants Commission (UGC), a statutory body of the Government of India established for the coordination, determination and maintenance of standards of university education in India.

CHITKARA UNIVERSITY (Punjab)

In the year 2010, Chitkara University was established by the Punjab State Legislature under, “The Chitkara University Act”. Chitkara University is a government-recognized university with the right to confer degrees as per the sections 2(f) of the UGC Act, 1956.

COUNCIL OF ARCHITECTURE (COA)

The five–year Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch.) Program at Chitkara School of Planning & Architecture, Chitkara University (Punjab) is approved by Council of Architecture (COA)—a statutory body constituted by the Government of India to regulate the education and practice of the profession of architecture throughout India, besides maintaining the register of architects.

PHARMACY COUNCIL OF INDIA (PCI)

The four-year Bachelor of Pharmacy (B. Pharm) Program at Chitkara College of Pharmacy, Chitkara University (Punjab) is approved by Pharmacy Council of India (PCI)—a statutory body of Government of India established to regulate pharmacy education in the country for the purpose of registration as a pharmacist under the Pharmacy Act, and the profession and practice of pharmacy.

NATIONAL COUNCIL FOR TEACHER EDUCATION (NCTE)

Teacher education programs namely B.Ed. and ETT at Chitkara College of Education for Women, Chitkara University (Punjab) are duly recognized by National Council of Teacher Education (NCTE)—a statutory body of the Government of India established for planned and coordinated development of teacher education system throughout the country.

INDIAN NURSING COUNCIL (INC)

The four-year Bachelor of Science (Nursing) Program at Chitkara School of Health Sciences, Chitkara University (Punjab) is duly recognized by Indian Nursing Council (INC)—a statutory body of Government of India established to ensure a uniform standard of training for nurses, midwives and health visitors.
