On 15th November 2025, Chitkara University, Punjab, burst into life as Rangrezz – National Theater Festival transformed the campus into a vibrant stage for stories and expression. Over two days, more than 50 teams and 1200 participants from across India filled the grounds with stage plays, nukkad natak, monologues, open mics, music, dance, games and carnival stalls, embodying the theme “Dastaan: Journey in Rhythm, Stories in Motion”.
The inaugural ceremony wove a powerful narrative of an artist and stage finding unity, honouring leaders like Dr. Sandhir Sharma, Vice-Chancellor; Dr. Col. Rakesh Sharma, Registrar; Dr. Naveen Babu, Pro Vice-Chancellor; Dr. Rajnish Sharma, Vice-Chancellor (Himachal Pradesh); and Mr. Anand Jha, Dean, Office of Student Affairs (Himachal Pradesh), alongside judges, faculty and students. C2S2 clubs energized the crowd with “Dastaan-e-Bollywood,” followed by Ms. Shinjini Kulkarni’s mesmerizing Kathak “Kastoori,” earning a standing ovation.
“Dastan-e-Rangmach” featured proscenium plays exploring family sacrifices, institutional pressures, and ambition’s toll, running late into the night. “Rangmach-e-Awaaz” brought street theatre to Beta Zone, with Chitkara’s Natsamraat setting a raw, rhythmic tone. Dastaan-e-Alfaaz in the woods highlighted Tisha’s poignant cancer journey amid songs on faith and society, while Einstein Hall’s monologues captured Draupadi’s rage and survivors’ resilience.
The Rangrezz Carnival at Omega Ground, Delta Zone, and Zero Ground added joy with colourful stalls, zorb balls, tug-of-war, and E-games like Valorant. Rangrezz 2025 celebrated fearless creativity, uniting diverse voices in a festival of raw emotion and cultural vibrancy.
