In a strong display of solidarity and social responsibility, Chitkara University, Punjab, organised a large-scale blood donation camp that witnessed participation from across its academic community. The initiative, held under the National Service Scheme’s Veins2Village banner, was conducted in collaboration with the Department of Computer Science Engineering and Rajindra Hospital, Patiala.

The event drew immense support from multiple departments, including Mechanical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, and Computer Applications. Over 1,500 students registered for the drive, each driven by a shared commitment to serving society. The camp was not just an event but a meaningful expression of compassion, where every contribution carried the potential to save a life.

The camp was graced by the presence of Dr. Madhu Chitkara, Pro-Chancellor of Chitkara University, whose words inspired the attendees to view community service as a vital part of education. She emphasised that blood donation is not only a moral responsibility but also a powerful act of humanity that connects individuals beyond social and cultural boundaries.

Throughout the day, a spirit of unity prevailed as students, faculty, and staff joined hands in a seamless, well-coordinated effort. With guidance from medical professionals and volunteers, the drive operated efficiently, ensuring both safety and comfort for the donors. The enthusiastic response underscored the university’s culture of active civic engagement and its commitment to instilling humanitarian values in students.

By the conclusion of the day-long drive, over 410 units of blood had been collected—a significant contribution that will support critical medical needs in the region. Each unit donated represents not just a medical resource but a chance at life, reaffirming the community’s shared resolve to make a difference.
