On 22nd April 2025, Chitkara University, Punjab, observed World Earth Day with a Tree Plantation Drive that echoed this year’s theme—“Our Power, Our Planet.” Organised by the National Service Scheme, the event unfolded in quiet harmony with nature, becoming a moment of shared purpose and reflection.

Key dignitaries including Col. (Dr.) Rakesh Sharma, Registrar; Dr. K.K. Mishra, Pro Vice Chancellor, IQAC; Dr. Jaiteg Singh, Pro Vice Chancellor, CUIET; and Sqdr. Ldr. (Dr.) Rina Angel, Vice President, Office of Administration and Centre of Excellence for Sustainability, joined the initiative with a sense of deep commitment. Their presence, grounded in responsibility, set the tone for a collective act of environmental stewardship.

Faculty members, deans, and directors came together to plant saplings across the campus, each tree standing as a quiet yet powerful symbol of renewal. The act was not merely about greening the campus—it was a declaration of long-term responsibility and faith in a more sustainable future.

Every sapling planted carried the weight of hope and the promise of endurance. As roots sank into the soil, a deeper connection was made—not just to the earth, but to the shared belief in nurturing it.

At Chitkara University, the Tree Plantation Drive is more than an event. It is an ongoing commitment to environmental consciousness, where each planted tree becomes a silent pledge for a healthier, greener tomorrow.
