International Mother Language Day

The Office of Student Affairs at Chitkara University organised an open talent hunt to commemorate International Mother Language Day. The event invited students to perform in their mother tongues, in line with UNESCO’s 2026 theme, “Youth voices on multilingual education”.

Students presented a range of performances reflecting their linguistic and cultural backgrounds. The program featured dance performances set to regional music, singing, poetry recitations, rap, instrumental pieces, and storytelling inspired by family traditions, highlighting the variety of languages spoken within the student community. Participants were recognised for their performances.

The event highlighted the importance of linguistic diversity while providing students with an opportunity to share their cultural heritage on campus.
