Chitkara University Hosts World Cancer Day Rally in Kalomajra

Second semester B.Sc. Nursing students from the Department of Nursing, Chitkara School of Health Sciences, Chitkara University, organised a cancer awareness rally at Kalomajra to mark World Cancer Day. The initiative aimed to educate the local community about cancer prevention, early detection and available treatment options.

During the rally, students carried placards and posters outlining cancer risk factors, warning signs and preventive measures, while raising slogans to engage the public. They interacted with residents to dispel common misconceptions, promoted healthy lifestyle practices and regular screenings, and shared information on government health schemes and nearby screening facilities, emphasising the importance of timely medical attention.

Through such initiatives, Chitkara University continues to engage with local communities through academic-led public health outreach.
