Chitkara University Hosts Awareness Talk on World Organ Donation Day

The Department of Nursing, Chitkara School of Health Sciences, under NSS, organised an awareness talk on World Organ Donation Day on 13th August 2025 at CHC, Kalomajra, Punjab. The event aimed to highlight the importance of organ donation and how it can save countless lives.

Participants learned that a single decision to donate organs can benefit multiple patients suffering from organ failure. The session, themed “Be the Reason for Someone’s Smile Today”, provided clear insights into the organ donation process, its urgent need in India, and addressed common myths and concerns. Legal and ethical aspects of organ donation were also discussed, helping attendees make informed decisions.

The talk was interactive, with opportunities for questions and answers. Real-life stories of donors and recipients made the discussion emotional and impactful, illustrating how one act of kindness can transform lives. By the end of the session, many participants expressed interest in pledging their organs, reflecting the event’s success in promoting awareness, compassion and social responsibility.
