Eligibility
At Chitkara University, we pride ourselves on preparing our civil engineering graduates for successful careers in various roles, such as construction managers, design consultants, and project engineers. The Lateral Entry (LEET) program allows diploma holders to seamlessly transition into a Bachelor of Civil Engineering program in the 2nd year, saving a year of engagement and fees. We invest heavily in providing our students with the latest software tools widely used in the construction industry, and emphasise experiential learning opportunities. This approach allows our graduates to effectively manage large-scale construction projects and ensure they are built in accordance with plans and specifications.
In addition to the technical skills, Civil Engineering also offers diverse career opportunities that align with individual interests. Whether you prefer working on construction sites or in an office setting, the field offers the flexibility to pursue interests in areas such as sports engineering and disaster relief. Engineers also have the opportunity to work in various locations, including offices, laboratories, and unique environments like underground and at sea, making it a dynamic and rewarding career choice.
The course outlay covers everything right from basic Civil drafting tools, through all the associated BIM technologies such as Revit Architecture and Structure, Revit MEP, Model Authoring in BIM, Overview of Digital Twin with Virtual reality integration in BIM, planning and costing in BIM and BIM Management. It also includes real time projects which integrate the whole learning environment in a single envelope.
After completing your Bachelor in Civil Engineering, you will be able to:
The applications of Civil Engineering are the broadest and the most visible among all other branches of engineering. Our meticulously designed B.E. LEET in Civil Engineering ensures that our students are fundamentally strong; and equips them with the latest technologies and skills through access to state-of-the-art simulation labs, hands-on training, and rigorous testing on designing and constructing resilient infrastructure.
Our Civil Engineering program includes a specialised module in Building Information Modelling (BIM). Recognising that BIM is among the most sought-after certifications by employers in the field, the course provides you with ample exposure and hands-on experience to understand the usage and application of the latest software tools widely used in the construction industry. It also familiarises you with the implementation of various Building Design Codes and practices used in the building construction process.
Our Civil Engineering program offers two specialisations: Public Health Engineering and Construction Management & Structural Engineering, aligning with current industry trends. With an industry-led curriculum that focuses on providing the highest level of training and certification, the program equips students with in-demand skills, giving them a competitive edge in the industry. Students have the flexibility to choose their subjects based on their interests and career goals, and also have the option to take additional electives in the last year of the program.
Our institution is equipped with cutting-edge labs in various fields of Civil Engineering, including construction management, public health, structural engineering, water resources engineering, clean energy, facility management, renewable water resources management, and Building Information Modelling (BIM). This advanced infrastructure directly contributes to your academic performance and industry readiness. Through exposure to these labs, you gain valuable insights into complex engineering problems, which in turn enhances your critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Employment of civil engineers is projected to grow 8% over the next ten years, about as fast as the average for all occupations. Some of the top recruiters that visit our campus to hire our industry ready students are:
