
Chitkara University students once again demonstrated their sporting excellence on the national stage as Jaspooran Singh and Sagar, first‑year MBA Retail Management students, delivered exceptional performances at the 2026 U‑23 National Wrestling Championships held at Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU), Rohtak, Haryana. Their remarkable achievements reflect the University’s strong sporting culture and continued commitment to nurturing talent across academics and athletics.
Competing against some of the country’s finest young wrestlers, both students displayed exceptional skill, discipline, and determination to earn podium finishes in their respective categories. Jaspooran Singh emerged as the National Champion after securing the Gold Medal in the 125 kg Men’s Freestyle category. Displaying remarkable strength, technical excellence and composure throughout the competition, he dominated his bouts to finish at the top of the podium, bringing national recognition to the University.
Adding to the University’s success, Sagar secured the Bronze Medal in the 87 kg Greco-Roman category. Competing against a highly competitive field, he demonstrated resilience and tactical brilliance to earn a well‑deserved place among the country’s top wrestlers in his weight category.
