
The National Service Scheme (NSS) and the Office of Infrastructure Development at Chitkara University, in collaboration with the Department of Forest, Punjab, organised a tree plantation drive to mark World Environment Day 2026. The initiative aimed to increase green cover on campus and raise awareness about environmental responsibility.
Students, faculty, staff, and officials participated in planting saplings across the campus, highlighting the importance of environmental conservation and sustainable development. The collaboration with the Department of Forest, Punjab, also reinforced the need to protect and expand green spaces.
The initiative is part of the University’s continuing efforts through the National Service Scheme to engage students and staff in activities that promote environmental awareness and community participation.
