On 21st May 2025, the National Service Scheme, in collaboration with the Chitkara Happiness Centre, organised a meditation session for the faculty members of Chitkara University, Punjab. Designed as a pause within the steady rhythm of academic life, the initiative offered space for stillness, reflection, and renewal.

Led by Pradeep Kumar, an experienced Mindfulness Coach, the session guided participants into a state of calm, focused awareness. The atmosphere remained unhurried, allowing faculty to step away from their responsibilities and return to the simplicity of breath. With gentle instruction, the practice centred on presence, encouraging participants to notice their thoughts without judgment and to reconnect with the quiet clarity that mindfulness can bring.

The session emphasised that rest is not an interruption to work but a vital act of restoration. Through silence, posture, and observation, participants experienced a sense of mental spaciousness, reinforcing the idea that clarity strengthens one’s ability to carry responsibility.

By creating opportunities for such reflective practices, Chitkara University continues to foster an environment that values mental and emotional balance. The meditation session served as a timely reminder that in the pace of academia, moments of stillness are essential, not only for personal well-being but also for the depth and quality of professional work.
