In observance of World Heritage Day, the National Service Scheme (NSS), Chitkara University, Punjab, organised a meaningful excursion to Anandpur Sahib on 18th April 2025. The visit aimed to immerse students in the living legacy of Sikh history and architecture while fostering a spirit of reflection and cultural awareness.

The day commenced with a visit to the revered Gurudwara at Anandpur Sahib. The atmosphere within the sacred space was one of stillness and quiet reverence. Students engaged in silent reflection, their presence marked by attentiveness rather than formality. Every step taken within the holy premises carried a sense of discipline and inward connection.

The group then proceeded to Virasat-e-Khalsa, a museum that bridges the past with the present through its immersive storytelling. Inside, history unfolded through detailed exhibits—panoramic murals, preserved manuscripts, and symbolic artefacts—all narrating the journey of Sikhism and the values it upholds. Soundscapes and visual displays deepened the experience, allowing participants to engage with heritage as something both remembered and ongoing.

Students moved through the space with quiet purpose. Some read silently, while others shared insights in hushed tones. The absence of guided commentary created space for personal connection and interpretation.

Held on a day dedicated to celebrating cultural heritage, the visit served not just as a historical lesson but as a contemplative journey. Through presence and participation, students honoured the legacy of the past and embraced the importance of cultural continuity in everyday life.
