After completing the first two years at Chitkara University, India, students transfer to York University, Canada, to complete the third and fourth years and earn a BSc in Computer Science from York University. At York, students can choose from two specialisation tracks:
Cybersecurity Focus and Data Science Focus.

  • This program is jointly developed by mapping Chitkara University’s B.E. in Computer Engineering to the curriculum of York University’s BSc in Computer Science degree with specialisations in Canada. This ensures seamless transfer with Recognition of Prior Learning credits, enabling students to achieve similar learning outcomes and graduate with a globally recognised BSc in Computer Science from York University.
  • Apart from significantly saving on international tuition fees by studying the first two years at Chitkara University, high school students will also experience an applied Canadian pedagogy while staying closer to home. By completing the initial two years in India, students also save on boarding and lodging costs before transferring to York University in Canada.
  • A Conditional Letter of Offer from York University is issued to all students at the start of the program, outlining the transfer conditions to York University after successfully completing two years at Chitkara University.
  • Students will receive coaching for the English language proficiency requirement (IELTS) during their first two years at Chitkara University.

How to Apply

You can visit our website, download the application form, visit our admission office in Chandigarh, or speak to our representative. Once you meet the eligibility conditions below, you can submit the application form along with the required documents and application fee to receive your letter of admission.

  • Eligibility for the Academic Year 2026 Successful completion of Class XII with Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics with a minimum 65% aggregate and 65% in Mathematics
  • A minimum of 65% in English in Class XII OR
  • Achievement of a minimum score of 6.5 bands on the IELTS English proficiency test with no band less than 6 OR TOEFL iBT score of 79 internet-based test, taken in a testing centre).

Transfer to Canada

You have the option to apply for and transfer to York University in Canada after completing two years of the B.E. in Computer Science program at Chitkara University, provided you demonstrate academic success (with a minimum required CGPA of 7 on a scale of 10) and meet other statutory requirements.

Upon transfer, you will enter the third year of the BSc program with a specialisation at York University, with full Recognition of Prior Learning credits from your first two years at Chitkara University. You will then complete two more years of study at York University to earn a four-year BSc degree.

Additionally, you will be eligible to apply for a three-year post-study work permit upon successful completion of your program. However, in addition to meeting academic requirements in the first two years at Chitkara University, you must secure a study permit from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), the sole Canadian government authority responsible for granting visas.

Other conditions include, but are not limited to:

  • A valid IELTS score of 6.0 overall, with no band less than 6.0.
  • No prior visa refusals for Canada on your passport.
  • Demonstrated academic success during the first two years of your Bachelor’s degree at Chitkara University, meeting the minimum required CGPA. Please note that IRCC has the sole right to grant or refuse any kind of visa to Canada and no external factor or entity has any say, control or influence on their decision.
