The DST-funded Chitkara University Technology Enabling Centre (CU-TEC), CRIO, Chitkara University, Punjab, is organizing a workshop titled “Mastering Laser Cutting: Machine Operation & Practical Techniques for Product Development” on 23 October 2026, from 10:00 AM onwards, at Chitkara University, Punjab.
The workshop is open to students, academicians, industry practitioners, and start-up entrepreneurs who are interested in gaining practical knowledge of laser cutting and engraving techniques for product development. The session will provide participants with hands-on exposure to CO₂ laser machine, where participants will be able to setup a machine and optimize their design to create finished products.
Moreover, participants will be able to understand and apply design requirements for cutting and engraving, parameter selection, material compatibility, precision cutting techniques, material optimization, and troubleshooting of common cutting challenges.
A key highlight of the workshop will be the opportunity for participants to design and fabricate their own laser-cut product during the session and take the finished product home.
The last date for registration is 16 October 2026. Interested participants can confirm their participation by registering through the Google Form: Click here to register.
DST-funded Chitkara University Technology Enabling Centre (CU-TEC), CRIO, successfully organized a workshop titled “Mastering Laser Cutting: Machine Operation & Practical Techniques for Product Development” on 23 October 2026 at Chitkara University, Punjab. The full-day workshop brought together 46 participants from diverse backgrounds, including students, academicians, and start-up entrepreneurs, who engaged in an immersive learning experience focused on laser cutting and product development.
It was delivered by – Dr. Chanpreet Singh – Sr. Project Manager, CRIO, Chitkara University, who is an expert in rapid prototyping.
The workshop provided participants with practical exposure to laser cutting and engraving technologies, machine operation and safety practices, design optimization for laser processing, material selection, and product development techniques. As part of the practical activity, participants designed and fabricated their own laser-cut products, allowing them to apply the concepts learned during the workshop and take home their creations.
