      Chitkara University has a Technology Enabling Centre (CU-TEC) that was set-up by the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India in the year 2019. CU-TEC is working toward industry-academia collaborations in the region for joint development of technologies, commercialization of academic research projects by industries, and providing solutions to specific technical problems of the industries.     • Pharma Industry-Academia Connect 2022

      Chitkara University Technology Enabling Centre (CU-TEC) sponsored by DST organized an event titled Industry-Academia Connect 2022 on 9th September 2022. In this event, pharmaceutical industry experts were invited to deliver expert talks on a range of topics including Quality Control for testing the drugs in their various stages of production, Production for drug design, manufacturing, extraction, supply, packaging, release, and storage. They also discussed Research and Development in the pharmaceutical industry that covers a variety of activities, including discovering and testing new drugs, developing incremental innovations, etc. They specifically gave insights about Automation Technology into specific tasks like processing systems, liquid dosing, tablet compression and coating, encapsulation, RFID labelling, tracking and traceability. The objective was to seek academic collaborations in all these aforementioned areas. Close to 100 faculty members and academicians from Chitkara University as well as from other institutions attended this event that was held in Einstein Hall, Galileo Block, Chitkara University, Punjab.

    • MSMEs Outreach: White Paper Writing Competition

      Chitkara University has a Technology Enabling Centre (CU-TEC) that was set-up by the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India in the year 2019. CU-TEC is working with the MSME industries in the region to explore the opportunities of carrying out joint projects with them for solving the real world problems. In order to do joint projects with the MSME industries, it is important that we understand their technological requirements, needs, challenges etc. To do needs assessment of the MSME industries, CU-TEC announces ‘MSMEs Outreach: White Paper Writing Competition’.

    • Invited Talk on Talent Analytics by an Industry Expert
      (3rd September, 2022)

      Chitkara University-Technology Enabling Centre (CU-TEC) organized an invited talk under Industry-Academia Connect Series wherein Mr. Pushpinder Singh, Chief Technology Officer from Ambiente Technologies Pvt. Ltd was invited. He discussed about some of his specific problems related to analytics, especially the talent analytics, wherein he sought collaboration with the academia. Ambiente Technologies Pvt. Ltd is interested in building data based decision making solutions (including software) for Talent Management, Performance Appraisals, Defining & Maintaining Company Culture etc. Close to 25 faculty members from the departments of Business Management, Computer Science and Engineering and CURIN attended this session.

    • Invited Talk on Food Processing Machinery by an Industry Expert
      (11th August, 2022)

      Chouhan Engineering Company, Rajpura is working in the domain of making machinery for food processing. There are several opportunities wherein these machines can be improved for better productivity and efficiency. CU-TEC invited Mr. Gulshan Chouhan from Chouhan Engineering Company, Rajpura to talk about some of these machinery where he believes faculty from Chitkara University can collaborate with him. The session was attended by close to 30 faculty members for Mechanical Engineering and Mechatronics departments.

    • Talk on Product Design by an Industry Expert

      The fraternity of Chitkara University is very active in innovative hardware projects and they build prototypes of their project ideas. To facilitate the students and faculty of the Chitkara University, Technology Enabling Centre (TEC) invited an industry expert to deliver a talk on how to convert prototypes into end products. Mr Akshay Dolas, Principal Engineer, ADD WORKS, Mumbai gave a lecture on the Real-time challenges while translating prototypes into end products. The talk was organized on March 16, 2022, from 11:00 am – 12 noon. The session includes case studies of two innovative products designed by ADD WORKS - Mileage air filter and Ka'an binaural microphone. Mr. Dholas also shared about the company’s latest project Road stud installation in the session. He shared his journey of converting an idea into a company that is being recognized on a national level in a few years. The importance of data collection, identification of end-user and the impact of the product on the customer were discussed. The session was concluded on a note that good engineering can be converted into magic. Around 116 participants attended the session.
