TIDE 2.0 EIR

The main objective of the program is to nurture the students & startups innovation by validation and development of their idea. The program provides a support platform for the aspiring entrepreneurs to develop their innovation through a technology enabling environment having access to a fellowship grant, networks, mentors and other fellow entrepreneurs.

The MEITY TIDE-EIR support recipient will be eligible to grant maximum of ₹ 30, 000/- per month with a minimum level of ₹ 10, 000/- per month for a period of 12 months. Hence total maximum support to be capped at ₹ 3,60,000/- for each selected MEITY TIDE- EIR.

Duration: 12 to 18 months based on the milestones.

Eligibility Criteria & preferences

1. The applicant must have completed the basic graduation in Basic Sciences/ Engineering/ Biotechnology/ Medicine/ Law etc. as on the date of accepting EIR (or) last year student but shouldn’t be seeking placement.
2. The innovator must be under the age of 25.
3. TIDE 2.0 EIR support recipient should not treat this support as a stop gap arrangement to support them in their academic pursuits or transition between jobs.
4. The applicant must be has to register his/her own company within 3 months of the acceptance of EIR.
5. The applicant shouldn't have a source of income.
6. Should be committed to exploring a business idea.
7. The applicant should not be the promoter or shareholders/beneficiary of another company.
8. IP generated would vest with the innovator and it would be further taken for commercialization
9. Wants to develop the prototype for a new product, for which they may have not received similar kind of support.
10. The innovator can avail the EIR support only once and they should not have sought the similar support previously, from other Government of India organisation / Institution for the same innovative concept as proposed in the application form.
11. If Applicant raises funding or investments for their business ideas/ potential start-ups, the grant support shall be discontinued.

Evaluation Parameter and Preferences

• Uniqueness (How the idea is different from the existing solutions in the market?)
• Impact (How the problem and solution you are addressing is relevant to society?)
• Proof of Concept (Does it has a PoC to develop a prototype?)
• Time Frame (Can the project be completed in the given time frame?)
• Sustainability (Is the innovation sustainable technically as well as in the market for a longer period of time?)

MEITY TIDE 2.0 EiR can however be not used for/by:

• Innovators/ start-up who do not/will not own the project know-how/IP.
• Funding research student/internship in academic institution or R&D organization.
• Innovators/team/start-up who is already supported once under MEITY TIDE.
• Innovators who do not have the necessary NOC on IP, granting sufficient time to work on TIDE project from their respective organization/institution/College.
• Innovator supported under MEITY-EiR in parallel with MEITY-Grant.
• Innovators who do not have a roadmap/will towards commercialization.
• Ideas purely relating to Software/App development.
