Green Synthesis of Nanoparticles using Microwave Irradiation

Nanotechnology is a modern scientific technique which is being used in many important applications in variety of fields like medicine, electronics, space, in solar cells & batteries as well as for air & water purification etc. In last one decade or so some metal nanoparticles are quite extensively studied by researchers because of their unique sizes and properties including electronics, magnetic, optical and thermal properties which are not observed in macromolecules. Recently, synthesis of various types of metal nanomaterials are reported in the scientific literature. Silver and gold nanoparticles are being synthesized by using microwave irradiations...

What's Inside Large Hadron Collider?

The Large Hadron Collider (LHC) is the world's largest machine built one hundred meters underground near the border between France and Switzerland, it has a circular geometry and has a circumference of 27Kms as shown in Figure 1. LHC is part of a multi-billion dollar global research project by the European Organization for Nuclear Research, also known as CERN where scientists and engineers from over hundred countries are working together to unravel the mysteries of the universe and the fundamental forces governing it by examining the universe tiniest particles. It houses huge and powerful accelerator that collides beams of protons and ions travelling close to speed of light (99.99%) and recording the resulting events caused by the collision. The purpose is to study the origin of the universe by recreating the situation similar to Big Bang but at a very small scale. A total of four particle accelerator labs namely ALICE, ATLAS, CMS and LHCb collect data and look for new physics in the noted events...

About Technology Connect
Aim of Technology Connect is to share with students & faculty the latest developments, technologies & updates in almost all fields of engineering and thereby promoting knowledge sharing. We started in 2015 and currently Volume 4 is in publication. Over 100 articles were published in Vol. 1, 2 & 3 combined. Earlier the frequency of publication was weekly but starting from June 2018 we have decided to publish it fortnightly. All our readers are welcome to contribute articles to Technology Connect. Just drop an email to the editor.
