What do you find the most exciting part of working as an Engineer?
Working as an engineer requires a lot of teamwork which means more interactions outside and inside the chosen area. Moreover, this career option is quite thrilling as an engineer gets to travel also. Not only this, but the income is also very decent and the profession is also reputed in the society. Hence, this career option being a complete package is the most exciting part for me and this is why I am highly interested in choosing it as a lifetime option.
Explain a scenario where you failed in an experiment and how you plan to deal with it in the future.
The job I am pursuing currently involves client interaction very frequently. I once made a mistake about being negligent about the attention to detail which is why the final outcome was not as per the client’s choice. The client gave a lot of criticism post the results. Our team had to face a lot of difficulty because of me as a significant amount of time and effort was wasted because of my carelessness. Though my team was very supportive and considerate, I realized what I lacked and developed a habit of being a careful listener. I also started making detailed notes after the incident which proved to be very helpful and now I am extra careful whenever I am dealing with a client.
What practices have you taken up recently to upskill yourself?
I have worked hard to upgrade my communication skills and contemplated in-depth empathy and resilience as a part of my soft skills growth. Coming to the technical skills I’ve recently learned about (mention a few external courses you’ve done online) and also I keep on learning about what is new in the field on various informative websites and on the news.
Being in this industry, you can be loaded with lots of work pressure, How will you deal with it?
There is no doubt that dealing with work pressure can get really daunting at times and I usually follow certain rules while doing the work that helps me to deal with the workload. I plan and prioritize my task on the basis of urgency. I avoid multitasking if possible and focus on things first to reduce my pressure. I also give myself a small break after 2-3 hours of continuously working to avoid burnout.

What is your long-term expectation from this job?
I am looking forward to a long-term association where I can get job satisfaction and job stability. I want to work in a healthy environment where I have an opportunity to work alongside experts and learn for my career’s growth. I would want to take up new roles as I grow in this company.
What do you find most challenging as an engineer?
Though, I try my best to work efficiently so that I don’t have many challenges to face but this job role comes with a lot of tasks and responsibilities which hinders the work-life balance a lot of times. Also, If the work demands dealing with clients, it gets a little tricky as client satisfaction is very important.
How do you think an ideal senior should execute himself in a company?
Since a senior person is in a position where has power and control over people working under him and which is why he must know how to utilize his authority in a workplace so that it creates more productive outcomes rather than creating toxicity in the environment. The work environment created by him should be inclusive and positive.
How do you keep yourself in sync with the latest trend and technology?
I tend to make frequent interactions with people from the same industry to expand my knowledge. I also keep myself updated with the new trends through social platforms and websites. Apart from that, I join online weekend courses to learn more about this industry.
What according to you is the best and the worst part of working as an engineer?
Something I really like about this field is that you are not confined to the same kind of work always, you get a lot of exposure. You get an opportunity to meet various people from different backgrounds inside and outside your company and the worst part is the limited time you get as an engineer to do what you want to.
