Our media students lift trophy in Inter-University fest

The students of School of Mass Communication again lifted media fest overall trophy in `Communis’ organized by Department of Journalism and Mass Communication of Guru Nanak Dev University Regional Centre.

Total 6 positions were bagged by our students which include 4 first positions and 2 second positions. Moohita Kaur Garg of BJMC II year stood first in Spelling Bee (Language Profeciency ) competition where as in Lens Arc (Photography ) competition , Taranveer Singh of BAJMC I year achieved top rank.

Choreography of Chirag Jain ( BJMC II),Ishaan Sood ( BJMC II), Harpreet Singh( BJMC II), Swati ( BJMC II),Lovleen ( BJMCII), Deepshikha Bhardwaj ( BAJMCI), Vinti Chandel ( BJMC II), Kanchan Kumari( BJMC II) was adjudged first among 10 participant teams’ performance.

An event of Documentary making ( Lights ,Camera, Action) was also won by our students comprising Vikas Sharma ( MAJMC I) , Sahiba Miglani ( BJMC II), Surabhi Madan ( MAJMCI) and Kartik Kumar ( BJMC II) who made a documentary of five minutes ` Peer Pressure To…’ and its centre theme is menace of drug addiction among girls.
Nukkad Natak ( street play) of our students was based on media’s pros and cons which stood runners up and its team included – Vineet Saini ( BJMC II), Anmol Vaid ( BAJMCI), Akansha Sharma( BJMC II), Ravisha Ranga ( BJMC II), Sonika Garg ( BJMC II), Vikas Sharma( MAJMCI), Vasu Kataria ( BJMC II) and Rishabh Kaushal ( BJMC II). Ms. Rhythm Kanwar ( MJMC II year) was declared second in TV News Reading competition.

Our total 34 students of the contingent took part in 15 events which included audio- visual Advertisement Making, Page Designing, RJying, Quiz, PPT making and presentation etc. Around 200 students from more than 15 institutions/ universities/ colleges took part in the media fest. The students were accompanied by Mr. Pankaj Garg, Mr. Shyam Dhiman and Ms. Rupinder Kaur of CSMC staff.
