Chitkara School of Planning & Architecture has been established on a 5 acres site within the campus to provide conducive learning environment in a stimulating built environment

CAPA has been designed in a way to offer budding architects new ways to access design references, model buildings and present ideas. The College in its five years of existence has established itself as a premier Institute of Architecture in the Northern Region. The college has been granted 40 additional seats from the year 2009

 Computer Resources
We maintain an environment in which information technology is available and easily accessible to serve all the members of the CSPA community. Each CSPA student is assigned a network account that enables use of state-of-the-art software provided over the network, as well as electronic mail and access to the internet. This account also provides access to sophisticated input and output devices including large format digitizers, slide and flat bed scanners, large format color plotters, high quality color printers, 35 mm slide output devices, and video and multimedia equipment.

 CAD/CAM Technology
CSPA enjoys a growing collection of CAD/CAM tools supporting wide-ranging activities in the design studio as well as specific research in materials and building technology. Our tools include input and output devices as well as CAD/CAM and product development software, which together provides a balanced representation of a field that has experienced explosive growth. Software such as Pro-Engineer and Auto CAD provide powerful tools for defining two and three dimensional models and preparing files to control individual machines.

 Library
CSPA Library supports and enhances the educational programs, curriculum development and research activities as an integral component of the School's mission to prepare and advance individuals in professional and academic careers concerned with the making of built environments. The Library currently holds over 1000 volumes and maintains subscriptions to about 25 hard bound and online periodicals.

 Research Documentation and Consultancy
As an essential input to career building of budding architects, a research centre is being set up which will undertake research in the regional Architectural heritage, environmental issues and emerging areas in new related fields. Architectural consultancy will be undertaken by the institute to provide hands on experience to the faculty and expose students to the practice of profession.

 Career Service
Our Career Discovery program will provide you with advice and information on careers in design. It would be our sole responsibility to arrange for your internships. CSPA has signed an agreement for exchange programs and internships for our students in Europe and USA with AIESEC the world's largest students' organization. It is proposed to establish an axial relationship with some notable European institutions for giving an international exposure to the students and providing windows of opportunity for their future.

 Career Options
At Chitkara School of Planning & Architecture, each student is given personal attention and all efforts are made to instil strong sense of creativity in them, so that they are able to become successful architects with excellence in creativity along with practical exposure. Completion of B. Arch. makes them a thorough technical person having high creativity talent. This combination makes them prepare and equipped with various experiences for professional practice. They can further specialize in Urban Planning, Urban Design, Landscape Architecture, Transportation Planning, Interior Design, Project Management, Real Estate Management, etc. The high level of creativity and expertise enable our students to sometime venture into other fields of creativity like Documentary film production, Film making, Set Design, Furniture Design including web page designing and multimedia specialization. Some of the different career options after completing the graduation in Architecture Catering to the various needs of designing and construction aspects of buildings

  • To disseminate the knowledge and skills obtained through teaching, research and consultancy to the various stake holders in professionals, students, beneficiaries in architecture and related fields.

At Chitkara, we have already established deep connections with leading architectural firms and construction agencies to ensure that each and every graduate starts his career as an architect on a flying note. As such there is already a big boom in the construction industry across the country and a big gap between the supply and demand of architects.
