Objectives:

“Feel, my children, feel; feel for the poor, the ignorant, the downtrodden; feel till the heart stops and the brain reels and you think you will go mad; then pour the soul out at the feet of the lord, and then will come power, help and indomitable energy.”
- Swami Vivekananda

We, the selfless and the fearless youth, are committed to serve the nation till the last drop of our blood. We aim to do the following:
  • To work for and uplift that section of the society that has been neglected by all for so many years.
  • To impart education to the children below 14 years so as to make them understand the basics of English, Hindi, Mathematics and Moral Science.
  • To aware the society with the dark side of our nation’s booming economy and appealing them to do some thing for it.
  • To fight for justice and upliftment of the labour section working in different colleges.
  • To work for overall development of the children living in slums.

Events:

 Revolution Paathshala:
Every one among us knows very well that our literacy rate is 65% and it is a matter of shame for a nation where more than 40% are youth that this figure has not improved for the last many years. Understanding this call of our nation, we started “Revolution Pathshaala” for 3 successful years and still counting. On 9th Feb, 2009, our class was restarted with 17 children from labour slums which are adopted by Chitkara College. This class consists of the children who have recently shifted in the college premises. It feels more than great to nurture a child with the gifts of knowledge so that in future he may break down the load of poverty with the tool of education and hence we all are excited to have a new set of students who are from West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh. Just in 2, 3 days of conduction of class, we have also observed a commendable power of grasping in these kids as now they have learnt phrases like “Good Morning”, “Good Evening” and have even started greeting us with Hello Bhaiya or Hello Didi. Yes! This feeling is beyond the web of words. With dedication to service in our hearts, this six-day per week class will be conducted by founders and executive volunteers of the group.

 Revolution’s second anniversary celebration:
14th November 2008 was the day when revolution became 2 years old. So to commemorate this special occasion we decided to celebrate “Revolution Foundation Week” from 10th to 14th November 2008 which was a campaign to spread awareness regarding proper utilization of electricity & water and to keep the surroundings clean.

Notices were put on every notice board & other places of public gathering and on the dustbins as well. Everyone responded well to this initiative and once again co-operated to make it a success.

On 14th November 2008 revolution donated blankets and clothes to the people living in slums near Dr I.T College of management and technology. Mr. Rajesh Hooda, Deputy Dean, Student Welfare and Ms. Charu Khosla accompanied us for their blessings and support.

We promise to continue doing such good things for the society in future as well because we believe that “In Unity We Make Difference”.

 Bihar Flood Relief Campaign:
Indian state of Bihar was hit with one of the biggest natural calamity ever in the history. In the month of August a flood in the river Kosi created havoc in the state. Help started pouring in from all the regions of the country to stabilize the situation. Realizing our responsibility REVOLUTION organized a relief campaign in the Chitkara campus to help the victims of this flood. Great Support from the faculty as well as the faculty members really encouraged this initiative to become a huge success.

We started this week long campaign on 8th September 2008 in the Chitkara institute of engineering and technology. In response to our notice regarding this campaign, people started donating money to the “revolution relief fund” which was specially started for this noble cause. Our volunteers showed great enthusiasm and did an outstanding work. Then we expanded this campaign to all the colleges located in the Chitkara premises and collected a huge amount of Rs 30000.We sent this money to the India Today Group which was deeply involved in the rehabilitation work going on Bihar.

It was a work of great courage which would not have been possible without the immense support and co-operation from the faculty members. We would also like to extend our thanks to the students who participated and helped us a lot in this campaign.

 Republic Day ’08 Celebration:
Revolution celebrated the Republic Day, 2008, in a unique manner. The members of the Mission, along with Sh. DP Gupta, Dean (Students Welfare) and Guide, Ms. Shakunpreet Kaur, visited the Govt. Primary School at Banur to distribute stationery materials and sweets to the needy students. The students present in the school numbered around 100. The school administration stated that most of the students came from families below poverty line. Every child was happy to see the members of the Mission working for their welfare.

After that the members of the Mission moved to a slum area, which is adopted by the Chitkara Institute, and distributed clothes and blankets numbering around seventy five to the inhabitants. The above clothes and blankets had been collected as donation by the students and the faculty members. The students, who formed the rally were Prashant Arora (Founder), Shrey Bhalla, Vineet Bhatia, Harsh Goyal, Ravjeet Singh, Sameer Goyal, Virendar Chauhan, Raveesh Sharma and Yogesh Goyal. The above team felt a great sense of contentment on celebrating the Republic Day in this noble way.
