With the ceaseless support of the faculty members, the society tries to cater to all the facets that a technical society must offer and have had overwhelming response always. The club’s purpose is to promote the enjoyment of personal computing for its members. The club provides an educational

and networking forum in which members can share ideas related to personal computing and can build personal computing knowledge and skills. The club serves members at all levels. It provides activities of interest to beginners as well as experienced computer users.

Objective of the club:
The objective of the society is to create an environment that will help that students to explore their potential , and provide them a platform to pursue and excel managerial and technical jobs, as well as cultural milieu that helps in the over all development of an individual. The society also aims at apprising them of the techno-o-logical advancements taking place as well as infusing in the students the spirit of professionalism and developing their communication skills, thereby making them able to win in this competitive, ever advancing world.

Year 2010
- Sight on Site :
Sight on site is a visual game, in which each participant is be provided with an abstract visual. Abstract means the picture won’t say anything clearly and the speaker has to first -analysis the picture and then interprets it according to one’s best understanding and imagination. The speaker is required to give a caption for the abstract .the picture will be shown for 15sec and then 1 min will be given for visualization of the picture and then 90sec to 2min will be allotted to the participant for expressing his views.

Knit the Flick
Bits 'n' Bytes is organizing an event in which we are giving an opportunity to the students to show their presentation and creative skills along with the innovation .The participants are being provided with the collection of various pictures . They need to create a movie using the windows movie maker or Microsoft PowerPoint of a time duration of around 2.5 minutes .They should be able to explain the theme of their topic clearly along with the presentation and the synchronization of the pictures.

DALAAL STREET (THE VIRTUAL STOCK MARKET)
The event requires no knowledge about the trading of shares in the stock market. It just demands the convincing power and ability to present/sell his/her product in the virtual market which would be set up on the spot. The event calls out for the smart minds to display their talent in marketing skills. The participants in the event would be provided with Virtual Money and the conditions varying with time. They have to maximize their profit, at the same time trying to minimize their contamination rate or risk factor. A real test of the character.
Year 2008
- Impromptu
It was an extempore for all engineering students and draw a huge response with more than 60+ contestants vying to be champions. The participants spoke on various topics ranging from world affairs, relations, India, romance, academics etc. The contestants were given a topic for which they were allowed 30sec & then they had to speak for 1 min on the given topic. They were judged on the basis of their confidence & content. It was an enthralling affair that continued for 2 hours culminating with the announcement of results. It was organized under the aegis of Faculty Incharge – Ms. Jyoti Snehi and the executive members of the club.
- Conquest
Conquest (The Quiz) was a general knowledge based quiz comprising of 3 rounds. The 1st round- the Knockout Round witnessed an unprecedented participation of 100+ teams. 10 teams made it through to the 2nd round. The 2nd round was a rapid fire with teams having to answer 5 questions within 1 minute. The 3rd round was a category based round with teams being tested with questions from a specific category out of 7 categories. Both the rounds saw a great dose of quizzing.
Year 2009
- Mind-O-Plex
Mind-o-plex was a written quiz competition organized by our club Bits ‘n’ Bytes in September 2008. It was exclusively for the second year students. There were two rounds, both of which were written and students were awarded participation certificates as well as the winners were given prizes by Coordinator of CSE Department, Mrs. Vandana Sharma.
- NICT workshop on web technologies
- NICT workshop was organized for the first year members of the club Bits ‘n’ Bytes. Mr.Sidharth and Mr.Sumit came from NICT to enlighten the students about on various new emerging web technologies. It was of 3 hours duration, separately conducted for both the sections of CSE.
- Teacher’s Day Celebrations ‘08
- The members of our club Bits ‘n’ Bytes actively participated in the Teachers Day Celebrations that were held in the Chitkara Campus in 5th September 2008 under the guidance of Mrs.Deepika Bhalla and Mrs.Priyanka Bakshi.
- Valentines Day Celebration
- Valentines Day Celebration took place in the Chitkara Campus on 14th February 2008. Our club bagged the Games stall in the auction and there were many games that were offered. Out of the following games, Love Guru was a great crowd puller.

- All the clubs joined hands this time and the result was the national level gaming extravaganza held for the first time in any college all over India. The overwhelming response of the participants from various colleges all over India made the fest an Evidence of creativity and hard work done by the students of CIET. It was a challenging tournament for gaming freaks to prove & show their mettle which would involve the enthusiastic gamers from more than 400 colleges across India to compete in a 24 hr gaming event.

- NICT workshop was organized for the first year members of the club Bits ‘n’ Bytes. Mr.Sidharth and Mr.Sumit came from NICT to enlighten the students about on various new emerging web designing.
- C++ Workshop by Expert Faculty from NIIT (March ’05)
- A C++ workshop was organized by the club on 23rd march 2005, in collaboration with NIIT, Panchkula in which 2nd and 3rd year students participated from all the branches. Workshop included an online test on C++ which was scheduled for 45 minutes followed by a question answer session and discussion with experts from NIIT. Mr.Mehar Singh Kohli, Centre head, NIIT, Panchkula and Mr.T.S.Singhal,HOD, CSE also joined the discussion and guided the students regarding their choice of course.
- Valentine Day Celebrations (2005)
- Following stalls were arranged by Bits ‘n’ bytes on 14th February 2005 fro the Valentines day celebrations.

- Interbranch Quiz on IT and Current Affairs (November ’04)
- Bits ‘n’ bytes gave a platform to the students to fight, not physically but with knowledge. A technical quiz was organized that involved quick decision making and the know all of all the subjects.
- Four teams were setup, each representing their respective branches, having three members each.
- Paper Presentation on Fundamentals of PC and PC Assembling (October ’04)
- Bits ‘n’ Bytes conducted Paper Presentation on Fundamentals of PC and PC Assembling for the first year CSE students. The students gained a lot of basic knowledge about the computers. The event was conducted with a view to give freshers of computer branch an overlook tp their subject.
- Trip to Agra, Fatehpur Sikri and Mathura (September ’04)

A Trip to Agra, Fatehpur Sikri and Mathura was organized from 17th to 20th September 2004. the society got an overwhelming response and it was a tree day trip.
- The trip was organized with a view of giving the students a break fromn the college routine and to refresh their minds to battle another semester. The trip was open for all the students, members as well as non members.
- Slide Presentation and Programming (July ’04)
- Yet another technical event that evaluated the powerpoint skills and programming skills of the students.
- The topic of slide presentation was “Artificial Intelligence”.
- The programming event left the students mesmerized and yet in a spin.
- Trip to AnandPur Sahib (July ’04)
- The trip to AnandPur Sahib and Naina Devi was organized on 26th July 2004, just before the commencement of the second year.
- It was a one day trip.
- The response was overwhelming.

With the purpose of invoking in the students the spirit of professionalism and confidence to build technical interest,the society provided them a platform for giving presentations, by starting a series of technical paper presentations in – AMALTHEA in the month of March 2004.

- Refreshments.
- Extempore and Open Session (January ’04)
- By far the most talked about open session and extempore in the CIET’s history, held on 21st January 2004, we had the best talents emerging from it with full anticipation and enthusiastic participation.
