A blood donation camp at Chitkara University, Barotiwala was organised by two prominent clubs Arbit and Parallel Universe. The camp was inaugurated by honorable Vice Chancellor Brig. (Dr.) R.S. Grewal. He averred that donating blood is as good as breathing life into some one. Blood donors deserve highest respect for their self sacrifice. It is a supreme and noble service to the mankind. It gives great satisfaction and young people should donate blood occasionally. He appreciated all those volunteered for this kind of gesture and came forward in helping saving countless lives. Dr. Varinder Singh Kanwar, Registrar and Col KS Nagi, Dean Students’ Welfare encouraged the students by their benign presence and interacted with donors.

The PGI Team motivated the students and talked about blood donation prior to the camp by the way of a motivational lecture. They were made aware of the various benefits of donating blood like refreshing of blood by production of new Red Blood Cells to replenish the blood lost and the reduced danger of heart diseases. The Camp got great response from the students contributing to the cause and making a difference. Around 200 volunteers came forward to donate their blood and showed their sense of concern towards the society and contributing their bit in multiplying lives on this earth. Dr. Madhu Chitkara, Pro Chancellor, Chitkara University visited the camp and said that it is immensely gratifying to see such good response and to realize that all efforts in trying to make a difference in people’s lives weren’t futile. All the donors and organizers were given certificates by PGI team.
