
The students of Chitkara School of Health Sciences took part in a Competition on ‘Power Dressing’ organized by the ESL Department at the Chitkara Corporate Office, Sector 25, Chandigarh. The students were trained on Corporate Dressing and the importance of the same was also highlighted.
The very mission of ESL to groom the students and make them industry ready was achieved when the students showed their enthusiasm for the competition. Every student exhibited professional yet sophisticated attire and ensured that full justice is done to the grace of each outfit.
ESL adopts the approach of learning through practice and for this reason; the new methodology that ESL has adopted is that of making the students cognizant of their potential through role plays and enactments.
'Power Dressing', in its authentic sense, means a style of dressing in which business people wear formal clothes that make them look confident and in control at work. The students were guided on the personal grooming and presentation, which will help them achieve heights in career.
Since the students are Managers in making and heading for corporates, it becomes imperative to understand the importance of ‘Power Dressing.’ After the workshop concluded, a competition was organized to assess the students on various parameters of Influential Dressing. Ms. Sovia RJ Singh, Dean ESL graced the occasion with her presence and shared her valuable feedback and suggestions with the students. She explained the need and the importance of dressing smartly and also encouraged everyone to be well groomed. She also shared her experiences with the corporate world and with the help of real life examples, made the students envisage the crisp and professional image they would exhibit to the world, if they dressed in formal clothing.
The winners of the competition: Grishma Singh, Saurabh Verma and Neeraj Nagpal bagged the I, II and III position respectively and were also given a certificate of appreciation for their commitment and endeavor. The competition embedded a feeling of proficiency and professionalism in the students and the event culminated on a very positive note with the students looking forward to more such events being organized.
